Jason Dockins
(December 30, 1985 - August 18, 2008)

Jason Dockins died August 18, 2008 at Rocky Ford park near his home. Jason was a central person in the LGBT community in Manhattan and continually used his networking and creativity to promote the comraderie of FHPFLAG and Delta Lambda Phi fraternity. We are saddened for him, his family, and our community about the loss of this bright and enthusiastic young man.

Jason will be honored by our FHPFLAG group tonight, Aug. 19 at our regular meeting at 7:00 pm. It will be a chance for people to share their thoughts and feelings about Jason.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug 21 at Clyde Christian Church. See the map quest link below for directions.

Obituary:Jason Dockins was born on Dec. 30, 1985 in Concordia, KS to Greg and Renee Henry Dockins. He passed from this life on Mon., Aug. 18, 2008 in Manhattan, KS at the age of 22. He graduated from Clifton-Clyde High School in 2004. He attended college at Kansas State University where he was a member of Delta Lambda Phi fraternity, serving as a social chair and later an alumnus. He worked at Best Buy in Manhattan as an inventory specialist. He was an Eagle Scout and served as a Vice-President and then President of the Order of the Arrow. He is survived by his father, Greg Dockins and wife Cindi, Clyde, KS; mother, Renee Hubert and husband John, Concordia, KS; sister, Trisity Pope and husband Kris, Concordia, KS; grandparents, Kenneth and Joyce Dockins, Clyde, KS, Pat Merriman, Onaga, KS and Robert Henry, Detriot, TX; step-brothers, Joshua, Daniel and Adam Gilmore, Clyde, KS and Mitchell Hubert, Concordia, KS; niece, Taylor Mason, Concordia, KS; nephew, Braxtin Mason, Concordia, KS and several uncles. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thurs., Aug. 21, 2008 at Clyde Christian Church, Clyde, KS with Rev. John States officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 8 PM Wed., Aug. 20, 2008 at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde, KS. Burial will follow ther services at Mt.Hope Cemetery, Clyde, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Jason Dockins Memorial Fund.  There will be an additional memorial service at 7 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2008 at First Congregational Church, Manhattan, KS
